Tree growing meets direct giving.
We use digital tools to remotely track and verify reforestation work, at any scale and across any distance. And we make sure tree-planting funds go directly to the people doing the actual work.
Fairtree is supporting communities, transforming landscapes and activating a new generation of tree champions - all while increasing transparency, tracking tree survival and driving down operational costs.
Every village and neighborhood has its own tree champions, people who are already planting trees and saving forests. All they need is a direct line of support to focus on that work and expand their efforts.
How we support people in remote places
Mobile Tracking
All our tree growers use the TreeTracker app to upload images of new trees that they planted/manage. Once those images are reviewed and verified the grower gets paid.
Mobile Support
We use mobile banking systems to send money to growers and projects around the world. We distribute funds on a per-tree basis, with over 75% going directly to growers to manage.
Grassroots Management
We recruit and train new growers remotely through a network of community-based change agents. We specifically target groups in places where few other non-profits go.
